COMING JANUARY 1, 2016

Join us for a year long Bible reading devotional. Each week we will dive into four passages.

God wants to speak to you when you read your Bible daily. There is nothing like the Bible! It is a collection of 66 books in 7 genres and collected over 500 years. It is written in 3 languages (Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic) on 3 continents (Asia,
Africa, Europe) by over 40 authors who were all ethnically Israel. Though it has over 611,000 words; it has one central message: God’s work to save people through Jesus Christ for His Kingdom.

Someone said that the B.I.B.L.E. is Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. But the Bible is not just a text book. The Bible is the Word of God where God can speak to you! We pray that God will speak to you as you read the Scripture!

FIRST, BEGIN BY PRAYING.

Begin by praying Psalm 119:18: Open my eyes so that I may see the wonderful things hidden in your Word. In the Name of Jesus! When you pray God’s Word to the Author of the Word, the Spirit of Word will reveal to you Jesus Christ (Who is the Word)! It goes from a dusty book to a life-giving source of direction.

SECOND, READ TODAY’S DOCTRINAL STATEMENT.

Every day we have provided a doctrine statement that we hope corresponds with the Scripture. We want you to evaluate the statement and build up your doctrine.

THIRD, READ TODAY’S SCRIPTURE 3 TIMES!

Read the passage for today THREE times. Each day the passage is only one or two Scriptures, so that you can focus on what God wants to say to you through them.

FOURTH, ASK FIVE DAILY QUESTIONS:
  • Is the doctrinal statement that is shared today true for you? Why or why not?
  • After you have read it three times, what does this Scripture tell me about God?
  • What does this Scripture tell me about people (or myself)?
